Ministry License

Not at sea and grateful to be available with all you land lubbers! This last week I had the privilege to attend Rocky Mountain Ministry Network General Council. Not only this but I had the honor to represent Dove Creek Assembly of God as their lead Pastor! Additionally my family, friends, colleagues, mentors and former home church Life Church Utah cheered me on as I was recognized as a Licensed Minister after 10 years of laboring in the field yoked with Jesus Christ. 

 "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." ~Mt 11:30 KJV

Encouraged, Assured and Resolute to continue answering the call to love God, love others and serve His Kingdom Come! Let's Expand, Empower and Enlarge the Lord's perfect will here on earth as it is in heaven! (Forward focused "Keeping the hand to the plow" Lk 9:62)

Many hands have contributed to this milestone of privilege. You know who you are but grant me some grace to thank a few key people within the local church who helped me out of the darkness and deep spiritual confusion along the way.

Grabbing the Torch   Each of us carries the fire imputed within.  If you’re Christian, you carry this fire within.  A fire placed there by God.  Today we pass the baton like that of a relay race.  It’s a baton with fire & smoke.  Like that of the Israelites if you will.  We carry the message of eternal life & death.  You can say that it’s a hot topic in the world!   Ministry is a marathon relay race.  Winning requires Teamwork.  Strength & Conditioning.  Stamina.  Endurance.  Confidence.  Balance.  Flexibility.  Communication, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, & Accuracy.  All of these areas of spiritual conditioning must be explored and integrated into the character of the competitors.  The person passing the torch or baton needs to know that the receiver is ready.  They both need to know where to meet & when.  They need to know who.  We need to know how.  As teammates we must have the same objective in mind, heart & in spirit.  Or else the race will not

New Beginnings: Born Someplace Between His-story & Hope

The Dove is symbolic of purity & peace! The Genesis of it all for us began in Texas & Utah.  Kelli raised Episcopalian & Southern Baptist later marries a young Navy man who was reared in the Mormon community.  Roughly ten years into our marriage I hit great depths of despair while operating as a Deep-Sea Diver.  That’s when I met the real Jesus of the Bible.  And we received spiritual discipleship from the First Assemblies of God—Red Hill Oahu, Hawaii. Dove Creek First Assembly, as some of you know, was founded during the 21st Century Pentecostal movement in 1936 some 30 years after the Azusa street revival in Los Angeles by A.J. Justice & his wife, Madeline.  Sent to plant & pastor by the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Springfield MO.  The original facility for assembling was made of logs hauled by the local men of the church from the Blue Mountain in Monticello, UT.  Forty years later Pastor Edward Phelps, his sons & local men built the roof we now
