Thirsty Thursday's .4 Ready Now

"[8] Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here [am] I; send me. [Isa 6:8 KJV]" Blue Letter Bible

Twelve Step work!  Celebrating 12 years publicly to encourage you who are suffering.  If it can be done in my life, then you too can discovery the road to recovery and sustain abstinence from alcohol and any other life controlling substance or process.  If it's a process addiction you are aiming to recover from then this too is plausible!  All praise be to God my Higher Power!

Dr. Paul Hardy is the Director of Recovery for Life and Recovery for the City in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  I was blessed to connect with him and his team of recovery specialist's back in 2015-time frame.  It was then that I had become very thirsty for a drink and relapse was on my horizon.  My friend at work invited me to join him at the recovery meeting on Tuesday evenings.  At that time, I had the opportunity to pick up my first recovery CHIP.  In five years of practicing the 12 steps of AA utilizing the literature (bibliotherapy found digitally) I finally entered into a public space anonymously to ask for help.  I'm thankful to God for sharing my friend Alex and Dr. Paul Hardy.  At a time when I really needed more help than what I could get in the church circles.

Fortunately, the faith-based program was exactly what had been missing from my own step work.  For far too long I was a lone ranger, and I can imagine that much self-induced misery could have been avoided had I discovered the Life Recovery Bible and Recovery for Life sooner.

So, what?  You may ask.

It's past time for some recovery labor here in the four corners of America.  In my best "ready to rumble" Michael Buffer tone, Let's get ready to recover!  My research has led to discovering a great support in Cortez but not Dove Creek.  Additionally, I found a resource connected to Adult & Teen Challenge and now I search for someone to help with the leading head wind.  If you or someone you know is committed to recovery we need their help.  Please consider training to become a Ready Now Facilitator.  To get started as a "Ready Now Location" we need only two, could that be YOU?  Testimonial below and a link to learn about how to be equipped.

Like Isaiah's Commissioning to serve God, do you hear the call?  Maybe that call is recovery for life.

I am ready, are you? In the meantime, I'll continue to saturate the prospects of a small group launch on our church campus with prayer.

Thirsty for "living water" Jn 7:38.

Earnestly,

R. Nicholas
